Best Pals Forever // Christine & Matt's Elegant Spring Wedding at The Essence // St. Paul, Minnesota

Laid back and always up for an adventure. That's Christine. She and Matt both have roots in the Midwest and a love for Minnesota. He grew up here and she spent her college years running around the Twin Cities. They met in Boston though, which seems completely unsurprising once you get talking to them. I asked Matt if he got his suit in MN or out east and he replied "Oh, it's from Amsterdam."

Christine and Matt incorporated their love for travel throughout the day. Their tables marked not by numbers, but by photos of the two of them from places around the world that they've travelled in their five years together; Amsterdam, Cologne, Acadia, Duluth, Saint Martin, Alaska, Dublin, Rice Lake, Nantucket, Banff, Cape Town, Nashville, Montreal, Boston. Their choice of food was a great honor to Minnesota though - Brasa knocked dinner out of the park and Nelson's Ice Cream topped it all off.

The sun was shining, the sky azure blue, and the blossoms were out in full force - you couldn't picture a better early May day in St. Paul. Their dark suits, soft pink color palette, and all white floral was the perfect match for The Essence Event Center's historic brick and striking black windows. And Christine's DRESS. I truly gasped when she sat down - the absolute perfect drape, every time.

Their day was completely elegant, with personal touches and fun moments spread throughout. From their 'Best Pals Forever' sign, and the pink protea flowers paying homage to their time in South Africa, to Matt's penguin socks referencing the beach in Cape town where they got engaged. Matt could not stop smiling looking at his bride and everyone there - from guests to grandma to the amazing team of vendors - had so much fun. This is exactly how a wedding should be.
